Our Story: A Nantucket Tradition

Forty Years of Sweetness on the Wharf

For over four decades, the scent of fresh chocolate and sugar has drifted from our doors on Straight Wharf, becoming a signature part of the Nantucket experience. Founded by Aunt Leah, our shop began as a labor of love that quickly grew into one of the island's most historic and beloved storefronts.

Aunt Leah’s Fudge has been a "first and last stop" for generations of families—a place where memories are made one slice of fudge at a time. As one of the long-standing historic shops on the island, we take pride in being a small but sweet piece of Nantucket’s heritage.

A Legacy of Quality

Aunt Leah built this business on a foundation of artisanal quality, creativity, and a genuine love for the community. Her warmth toward every person who walked through the door and her dedication to the craft are what turned a small storefront into an island institution.

From our famous chocolate-covered cranberries to our signature fudge, every treat is a testament to the high standards established forty years ago. We remain dedicated to preserving the classic recipes and the handmade touch that have made "Aunt Leah’s" a household name.

A Piece of Island History

Today, the shop remains a vibrant part of the Straight Wharf community. Our mission is simple: to ensure that the traditions of Aunt Leah’s stay alive for the next generation of locals and visitors alike.

Whether it is your first time visiting the wharf or you’ve been coming to see us since the 1980s, we invite you to stop by, say hello, and share in a delicious piece of Nantucket history.

Aunt Leah officially retired after 35 years of teaching. Her latest routine is going to the fudge shop daily and creating new and interesting fudge flavors. Stop by and ask her how she is enjoying her retirement.
